East Point: Walk along the Railroad of History
Located southwest of Atlanta in Fulton County, Georgia, United States, East Point, GA is a suburban city with a population of over 35,000 residents. The city name stems from the fact that it sits at the opposite end of the former Atlanta & West Point Railroad from West Point. It played an integral role for the South in the America Civil War as it was used as an ammunition depot. Today, East Point is an industrialized city, hosting manufacturers for textiles, fertilizer, and metal products. It is also home to Atlanta Christian College along with big-name stores, hotel chains, and commercial establishments. The city's aviation needs are serviced by Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
