Lithia Springs: Natural Trails and Indoor Excitement
Located in eastern Douglas County and home to the Sweetwater Creek State Park, Lithia Springs, GA was named after the word “Lithia” that translates to “Mineral Water Springs”. The region is serviced by the FTY Fulton County Airport and the ATL Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport. An influx of wealthy settlers started settling to Lithia Springs during the turn of the 20th century after the discovery of the therapeutic mineral waters coming from the Lithia Springs, an actual spring in the region. Boating, fishing, outdoor hiking and several other outdoor inspired activities are some of the most common activities enjoyed in the area.
Best Time to Visit
Lithia Springs, Georgia is best experienced during the summer and other warm weathered months. Tourists come in crowd during the months of May, June, August and October. To explore the area on a budget, picking a month like that of December to March would be ideal.
