The Bob Devaney Sports Center is the University of Nebraska's sports complex located in Lincoln, Nebraska. This sports complex includes seats for 7,907 people, a 1,000-seat in the swimming and diving arena, and a 5,000-seat in the track and field facility. Bob Devaney Sports Center is named after Nebraska's popular football coach named Bob Devaney for its contribution in the sports industry. The sports center was first opened in March 1976 and was used for the Nebraska Boys Basketball Tournament. This is also home to Nebraska Cornhusker's gymnastics, volleyball and wrestling teams.
One of the most popular attractions is the Nebraska State Capitol, located in downtown Lincoln and nicknamed as the Tower of the Plains. This capitol was designated as a National Historic Landmark by the National Park Service in 1976. Adjacent to the capitol is the Embassy Suites Lincoln, a contemporary-styled hotel that offers free breakfast and evening reception. The hotel also has an indoor swimming pool and a fitness gym. The hotel is also nearby to some of Nebraska's finest tourist destinations, like Frank H Woods Telephone Museum, a museum that educates tourists about the general history of the telephone industry. Interestingly, Frank H Woods Telephone Museum was once featured in Jim Carrey's movie called Yes Man. In 1996, the museum received funding from Aliant Communication, until 2018 where the museum got permanently closed. Lastly, just a 10-minute walk from these attractions is the Courtyard by Marriott Lincoln Downtown located in the Haymarket District and features coffee-making and 24-hour reception desk facilities. This hotel also provides complimentary newspaper and fitness with cardiovascular equipment.
