Arlington, Minnesota is a city under the administration of the Sibley County. It is home to just about 2,200 residents and covers a total land area of 4.24 square kilometers. Arlington was platted back in 1856, but its name wasn’t officially approved until May 11, 1858, which, coincidentally, falls on the same day that Minnesota was hailed as a state. The first settlers in the town were of German descent and came between the 1860s to 1870s. Arlington became an official city in 1948.
