A year after the township was purchased, all 15,560 acres of Youngstown by John Young from the Western Reserve Land Company. Back then, the purchase cost him $16,085. Also known as the “Rust Belt” Youngstown, OH served as the center of steel production. Although the town experienced a decline in its economy back in the 1970s, it was able to redeem and redefined itself after.
