Sandy, Combining Outdoor Fun with the Metro Vibes
Sandy, UT is among the major suburbs of Salt Lake City, sheltering almost 100,000 residents and is the fourth largest city in the state. Although the town is mostly composed of residential areas, a portion of its area houses some famous shopping centers such as South Town Mall and Jordan Commons and several other commercial establishments like hotels and restaurants. Sandy has been referred to as “The Ultimate Base Camp” as it offers a wide array of both outdoor recreation and metropolitan experiences. Travelers can reach this amazing city through the OGD-Ogden-Hinckley Airport and the Salt Lake City Internatonal Airport.
Best Time to Visit
Half of the year can be quite cold in Sandy, Utah, while the remaining months are otherwise lovely and have slight chances of rain. Late April to late June and late August to mid-October have the best weather for tourist activities, so better plan ahead. July is rather a busy month for the town in celebration of the 4th of July, followed by August when the city holds their annual Balloon Festival. Sandy, UT hotels are less crowded come December.
