Haifa Airport- HFA
Operated by the Israel Airports Authority, Haifa Airport is a public-military airfield found in the eastern side of the city of Haifa, Israel. This international airport is also referred to as U Michaeli Airport, named in honor of Uri Michaeli, one of the founders of aviation in the country and the pioneer of Jewish aviation. The Haifa Airport, which is internationally recognized by its IATA location identifier HFA and ICAO code LLHA,primarily provides civilian flights with occasional military operations now and then.

Haifa Airport (HFA) was constructed way back in 1934 to serve the British Army and APS, an Iraqi-British oil company. Two years after, the airfield opened its passenger flights to Cyprus and Beirut. These commercial services continued until 1940 when World War II broke out, and the airport was transformed into a Royal Air Force base. Currently, the only airline serving Haifa Airport is Israir Airlines. This connects the airfield to Ramon Airport in Eilat. In 2016, Haifa Airport accommodated a total of 119,113 passengers and over 17,000 aircraft operations. Just an hour's drive away from the airfield, you can visit the town of Tiberias, which is near the Sea of Galilee.
