Considered as one of the minor international airports in Italy, Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport is also known as the Christopher Columbus Airport. It is an airport built on an artificial peninsula located 7.4 kilometers from Genoa, Italy.  Although it is not a major airport in the country, GOA-Cristoforo Colombo is considered to be one of the most significant airports in the Liguria region that serves the Port of Genoa as well as areas in Asti and Alessandria Provinces. The airport is also the manufacturing base of the Piaggio Aerospace.

Genoa, Mele, Lumarzo and Isola del Cantone are a few of the nearby towns and cities surrounding the airport.
