Kansas City: The City of Fountains
Aptly nicknamed The City of Fountains because of its 200 fountains, Kansas City, KS is the third-largest city in the State of Kansas, the county seat of Wyandotte County, and the third-biggest city of the entire Kansas City metropolitan area. Kansas City, KS is alternatively referred to as KCK to avoid getting confused with neighboring city Kansas City, Missouri. Walt Disney started his first animation studio, called Laugh-O-Gram Studios, in KCK, and rumor has it that Mickey Mouse was inspired by a real-life mouse that set up residence at the building. Today, the city is home to the General Motors Fairfax Assembly Plant, Associated Wholesale Grocers, and the Kansas City Steak Company as well as other reputable hotels and restaurants. The city's aviation needs are serviced by Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport.
