West Kootenay Regional Airport – YCG
Serving the city of Castlegar, British Columbia and the nearby Nelson, BC is the dainty West Kootenay Regional Airport. It was officially opened last 1950 but the terminal was not built until 21 years after its opening. It is also fondly referred to as Castlegar Airport, after its very own city name. The West Kootenay Regional Airport (YCG) has one passenger terminal and a single, short runway. The terminal has undergone expansion during 1978. However, last 2009, night time visual beacons were installed but can only support emergency/medical flights as of the moment.
