Famous for its beaches, Redondo Beach, CA is a very popular vacation spot for swimming, sport fishing and plenty of activities to do at the Redondo Beach Pier. You can head to the city via a plane ride to the LGB-Long Beach Municipal Airport and the LAX Los Angeles International Airport. The region was once part of the Dominguez Rancho before it was developed in 1885. It became a city in 1892 and became a popular destination for beach lovers after the Hotel Redondo was built. Now a resort town, the city was originally called Torrance, after its founder Jared Sydney Torrance and was later changed to Redondo Beach after the Rancho Sausal Redondo.
