Massena International Airport – MSS Massena

Massena International Airport is located in the Laurence County particularly two kilometers east of the village of Massena, New York. The town of Massena owns the airport and is alternately known as Richards Field. The airport is classified as a general aviation airport by the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011-2015.

Massena International Airport (MSS) has a total land area of 304 hectares and two asphalt runways measuring 1,707 meters by 30 meters and 1,219 meters by 30 meters. Based on statistics from mid-parts of 2017 to 2018 by the Federal Aviation Administration, the airport handled 9,190 aircraft operations with nine based aircrafts. The airport offers air cargo, courier, limo, charter and full service jet refueling. It also has VHF omnidirectional range, instrument landing system and RNAV navigational approach; however, it does not have its own control tower. The airport is considered as the U.S. Customs Port of Entry for planes coming in the United States, Canada and other foreign countries. Boutique Airlines serves the airport with direct flights to Boston. The airport is surrounded by the cities of Bank Street Promenade, Limoges and Kemptville.
