Lynn Meadows Discovery Center was built to promote arts through an interactive educational experience. This facility is the first children’s museum in the state of Mississippi and situated in the renovated Mississippi City Elementary School in Gulfport. Lynn Meadows Discovery Center offers a theater, indoor exhibit space, and outdoor playing area. This was founded as a community project and is greatly supported by the community. In 2016, the museum was awarded the National Medal for Museum and Library Service.
