Limón International Airport - LIO Limon
The Limon International Airport in Limon, Costa Rica is a public airport that has an IATA code of LIO. It is owned and operated by the Direccion General de Aviacion Civil, and is one of the country’s four international airports. The LIO Limon airport is Costa Rica’s primary air hub for getting into the Caribbean islands. It was closed for nearly two decades, and was only reopened in 2006. Near the airport are the communities of Hone Creek and Bri Bri, as well as the Caribbean islands of Manzanillo, Puerto Viejo, and Cahuita.

The airport features a 1,800-meter asphalt runway. Within a 2-hour drive via taxi or shuttle service are the cities of Puerto Viejo and Punta Uva.
