Groningen Airport Eelde is a minor international airport that serves Groningen, Netherlands. Ut is located near Eelde in the province of Drenthe, about 5.5 miles from the center of Groningen. It is a public airport with an IATA code or GRQ and is operated by the Groningen Airport Eelde NV. It sits at an elevation of 5 meters above mean sea level. It serves as the hub for airline Flybe and Transavia. There are two runways, the first one is 1.5 miles long and the second one is less than a mile long. Both have asphalt surfaces. A runway extension was planned in the early 2000s, but it wasn’t completed till 2012.
