Greenburgh Nature Center is a witness of how the locals of Scarsdale put into pieces their passion for preserving the environment of the town. It started way back in 1973 when the residents funded a “Hall Estate” to protect the wildlife in Scarsdale. Later on, its focuses on preserving the 33-acre land that includes an organic garden, barnyard, native plant meadow, vernal pond, and American Replica Village. Today, Greenburgh live unto its vision to be the leading environmental educator teaching sustainable practices while enhancing community-based programs and hand-on on providing assistance to visitors.
Greenburgh Nature Center also serves as the venue for some town occasions. A series of programs and events are held here.
