Arlington, A Town of History in Massachusetts
The town of Arlington lies within the Middlesex County, about ten kilometers from northwest Boston. The first settlers in the area were the European colonists who came in the 1600s. they named the community Menotomy which roughly translates to “swift running water.” The town was finally incorporated on February 1807 under the name of West Cambridge. It wasn’t until 1867 when the city was renamed to Arlington after those buried in Arlington National Cemetery. To reach the city via plane, book your flight to Laurence G. Hanscom Field Airport, Boston Logan International Airport, and Minute Man Air Field Airport, all of which are within half an hour drive from Arlington, Massachusetts.
Best Time to Visit
Arlington, MA experiences drastic temperature changes throughout the year, half being cold and a half relatively warm. Mid-May to early October are the best times to visit the city, most notably in September when you can drive to Boston for the annual Boston Local Food Festival. Arlington, MA hotels are cheaper during this season, too.
