The fifth largest city in Saskatchewan in Canada is home to Swift Current Airport (YYN), an airport located 4.6 miles east of Swift Current, Canada. In the 1930s, it began as a crude aerodrome as part of Canada's national “100-mile interval” aerodrome system.Duringthe outbreak of WWII, it became the base for RAF’s Service Flying Training School. After the war, the airport was operated by the Department of Transport (now Transport Canada) until the late 1990s. Today, it continues to serve as a public facility that accommodates corporate charters, military training, private aircraft, and government aircraft.
