Fort McMurray International Airport (YMM) is the biggest airport in northern Alberta and is situated 8 miles of Fort McMurray, Alberta in Canada. The first airstrip for smaller aircraft was built in 1936 connecting Fort McMurray to Edmonton. In 1942, the US Army Air Forces took over the airport and two years later gave back the operations to the Canadian Department of Transport now known as Transport Canada.

The airport was renovated and opened a new terminal facility in 2014 to accommodate 1.5 million passengers.
In 2018, due to a huge decline in passengers, YMM became the 20th busiest airport in Canada. The same year, Fort McMurray airport announced that it would no longer serve international flights. This airport mainly serves the town of Fort McMurray including Wood Buffalo in Alberta.
