Candlewood Hotel or Candlewood Suites Hotel, part of one of the biggest hotel conglomerates, the Intercontinental Hotels Group, is a leader in the extended-stay segment of the American hotel industry. Founded in 1995 by Jack Deboer, founder of the Residence Inn, and co-founder of the Summerfield Suites chain, Candlewood Hotel was later on acquired by IHG.
The difference between other hotels and Candlewood is focused on providing sensitive-rates on studio-type living quarters complete with a fully-equipped kitchen and large work area. The Candlewood Cupboard (an on-site convenience store) also allows the occupants to stock up their kitchen with beverages and snacks available 24/7 at very low prices.
