Recommended Hotels was founded in 2003 by Martin Philips. Philips has been part of the sales and marketing niche of the hospitality industry, and saw the opportunity in creating a business that will provide independent hotel owners in maximizing their Online Travel Agents revenue. By 2013, Channel Managers and Property Management Systems and processes were becoming a necessity in the rental property industry. Recommended Hotels’ founder, Martin Philips sold the Recommended Hotels brand to Cultuzz Digital Media Group, a German company that already developed Channel Managers for the hotel industry. The merger combined Recommended Hotels experience in marketing hotel properties with Cultuzz’s technology, creating a stronger force in the hospitality business.

In 2018, Recommended Hotels removed the commission-related pricing and switched to a fixed hourly modes to be able to provide flexible payment terms for the company’s services.
