Simon Bolivar International Airport, Santa Maria, Colombia (SMR) is a public airport operated by Aeropuertos de Oriente SAS, which won a concession agreement with Aerocivil. It earned an international airport status in 2007.

Named after political leader Simon Bolivar, the airport has a runway measuring 5,577-foot long. In 2018, it has served 2.03 million passengers. Lineas Aerias Nacionales SA (LANSA) inaugurated Simon Bolivar International Airport in 1949. In 2018, Viva Air Colombia announced to open a hub at the airport. Several facilities can be found at the airport. It has a new healthcare facility, check-in counter, airline offices, and food square. New ATMs have also been installed. The restrooms have also been renovated. Currently, four (4) airlines are operating at the airport. The busiest routes as of 2018 are Bogota, which has served 1.29 million passengers during the year; Medellin, which has served 461,078 passengers; and Cali, which has served 107,108 passengers.
