The Montgomery Regional Airport is a non-hub primary commercial service airport in the US state of Alabama. It is a civil-military airport that is located in Montgomery, Alabama. Its airport code, MGM, stands for the city’s name Montgomery. Originally the airport was called Gunter Field when Montgomery City opened it to provide commercial aviation in 1929. During 1940 and upward, the airport was used as Military Facility. In 1987, it was opened to serve the public. As of the May 2018, there were 125 aircraft based at this airport: 46 military aircrafts, 52 single-engines, 16 multi-engines, 9 jets, and 2 helicopters.
