Founder Leonard Van Veldhoven took inspiration from the many motels he encountered during his business trips to the US— how they catered to the needs of guests traveling for work. They were pretty decent at affordable rates, and such was not yet available in the Netherlands.
So in the late 1980s, Van Veldhoven established Bastion Hotels. He made sure that the hotels were accessible and had 24/7 reception desks. Since Bastion Hotels was the first of its kind in the Netherlands, it easily took off and grew.
Over the years, Bastion Hotels has continued to improve its services and to adapt with the changing demands of the hospitality industry. This is why until today, it remains to be relevant and a leading brand among travelers around the world.
