Freedom Hall Civic Center
Serving as a multi-purpose arena of Johnson City, Tennessee, the Freedom Hall Civic Center also doubles as the East Tennessee State University’s basketball venue since 2014. The stadium was established in 1974 as an extra space for the middle and high schools on the Liberty Bell Complex, as well as an entertainment venue for the city. It can accommodate 8,500 people during events and around 6,100 during basketball games. Over the past years, the Freedom Hall Civic Center became the frequent go-to venue for theatrical plays, ice shows, sports events, concerts, and even rodeos.
Aside from visiting Johnson City, you can also explore the other attractions in the nearby town of Bristol. The Bristol Caverns is among the oldest and most frequently visited sites in the city. From there, drop by the Paramount Center for the Arts, a 732-seat auditorium that features complete audio equipment, a full-sized stage, and a backstage area. It hosts several theater performances, concerts, film screenings, and other special events.
Afterward, stay at the family-friendly DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Johnson City, where you will be treated to an on-site restaurant and bar, fitness center, pools, and 24-hour business center. Meanwhile, the Hampton Inn Johnson City, which is close to the city center, features free breakfast, an outdoor pool, a laundry service, and complete en-suite amenities.
