The Earthquake Lake Visitor Center is located in Cameron, Montana. The center was opened in 1967, and it receives an average of 50,000 visitors a year. It is named after the late that was formed when a 1959 earthquake caused a landslide that blocked off the Madison River. The earthquake that formed the lake was named the Hebgen Lake Earthquake.
