The Dothan Regional Airport- DHN airport is a regional airport catering to Dothan City in Alabama. The airport is owned by the Dothan-Houston County Airport Authority. Geographically, the airport is located in the northwest of Dothan, in Houston county. It is surrounded by Lake Park, Thomasville and Pelham. The DHA airport was the “primary commercial service” airport from 2011-2015 by the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems. The DHN airport was initially built in 1941 as Napier Field for the United States Army Air Corps. In 1960, the old military base used during the war was converted to a new facility for civilian use. Later, in 2004, military trainings by the US Air Force had been resumed its training, “a non-flying unit, the 280th Combat Communications Squadron (280 CCS), an Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC)”.
