Beruwela: The Place Where the Sail is Lowered
Beruwela, Sri Lanka, is located at the south of Colombo in the Western Province, Sri Lanka. The name Beruwela came from the Sinhalese word that means “place where the sail is lowered”. Both the bus station and railway station are in Beruwela’s city center. Guesthouses and the stretch of Beruwela resorts are located at the southern part of this city. Beruwela was the very first one to have a Muslim settlement in the within Sri Lanka.
