W Hotels is a luxury hotel chain under Marriot International’s management. This brand was formed in 1998 with W New York as the team converted the old Doral Inn hotel in Manhattan into one of its own. That initial strategy became the signature method of the W Hotels. They have acquired existing hotels and turned them into their own over the years until its international expansions urged the brand to build their own. This started in 2008 when they opened their Istanbul branch. The hotel was strategically built in the middle of historical structures whose constructions date all the way back to 1870s. The W Hotels designed a building that would blend the area and strike an impression of luxury and modernity at the same time.
The locations of the hotels are scattered in different continents with the same signature of designing buildings according to the area’s aesthetics and the brand’s support for modern architecture.
