    Disappointing

    Very expensive compared to the...

Pros: The room itself (for what it was) was clean. Location is close to Union square.
Cons: The whole structure has a potential, but needs a complete renovation. I knew I booked a relatively "cheap" option (less than 200$ per night without taxes is cheap in San Francisco), still with a 250$ per night one can get a much better accommodation.

    Disappointing

    Staff was nice, you get...

Pros: It was inexpensive. It was within easy walking distance to the office. There were enough small places to eat nearby if you felt comfortable walking alone at night - but I did not. The optional elevator was nice.
Cons: There were a lot of loud homeless people outside yelling at all hours of the night. When someone went to enter their room next to mine, it sounded like they were entering MY room in the middle of the night. My towels had holes in them. Did not feel clean and smelled funky.

Cons: it was a little noisy from the street

    Pleasant

Pros: Location was great! Next to BART and cable car. Shopping district 5-10 min walk
Cons: Very old hotel. Does not have phones or hardly any amenities. Good for 1-2 nights... meets your basic needs

  • Hotel review by Erin

    Erin

    Fair

Pros: It was exactly as described. Great price for location but no frills. As long as you dont expect the Four Season youll be ok ;)
Cons: A bit noisy since my room was on the alley side.

  • Hotel review by Andrea

    Andrea

    Very Good

Pros: Basic accommodations and a good value, especially considering that you have your own bathroom, which is not common at this price point. Location is in the middle of everything with lots of things to do, plenty of restaurants to choose from and in walking distance to Union Square, Financial District and Chinatown. Room was clean and the mattress was adequately comfortable. Building was safe and the owners were friendly, personable, and forthcoming with great and useful information about transportation, what to do, and where to eat. Thanks for the tip on the Pakistani restaurant. Absolutely wonderful :-) .
Cons: I have no complaints. Due to the age of the building, there are no electricity outlets in the bathroom and only one power strip for your gadgets by the TV. I do not see this as a problem, but it's something to be aware of. Depending on the room the view might not be great. Just keep the curtains closed. Street noise can be expected due to the central location. Room service is not daily.

  • Hotel review by A_phd

    A_phd

    Disappointing

Pros: The room was quite spacious. Close to Union Square and close to china town
Cons: - The hotel is relatively old so you hear the noise from the street and corridors - While the location is central, its very close to a bad district of San Francisco (Tenderloin) with quite some homeless people nearby - No AC - Very basic equipment

  • Hotel review by Anonymous

    Fair

    Pros: Nice central location
Cons: There was a front door locked entry and you could only get admitted by buzzing it with no key entry for guests even after first registration

  • Hotel review by Zeynep

    Zeynep

    Good

Pros: The hotel is very close to Union square and very central to several attractions. Hotels surroundings are not as good as the Union square but as its very close, the surroundings will change in a few hundred meters. The hotel belongs to a family. Everybody whom you have a contact with are family members
Cons: It could be cleaner. It didnot smell very good. And they copied my card for downpayment which has irritated me a lot. I still hope this copy has been shredded and I shall not face a problem .

  • Hotel review by Dianam

    Dianam

    Good

Pros: The position is great to visit the city of San Francisco, full of good restaurants for night and day The people was kind It's worth for a couple of days
Cons: My room at second floor was external in Taylor st and very noisy. Despite the cleaning of the room, the old moquette caused me allergy. The fridge didn't work at all. The owner asked me a deposit of 250$ for a price of 300$ for 2 night. It wasn't clearly a stated by booking when I reserved.

  • Hotel review by Lynette

    Lynette

    Fair

Pros: Property was in a great location handy to Union Square.
Cons: The room was pretty basic. There was one power point and only one lamp in the bedroom area which was not next to the bed. The bathroom was very old.

  • Hotel review by Verified Hotel Guest

    Verified Hotel Guest

    Disappointing

Pros: Location was good, central to many other areas.
Cons: Clearly aging, rooms not being kept up. The hotel is not a 2 1/2 star hotel. More like a hostel0 no amenities. Windows extremely dirty. Poor lighting. Haphazard electrical outlet availability. Bed seemed fine at first but led to a sore back by day 3.

Pros: Location was near my convention.
Cons: It was old and creaked when anyone walked. Carpet was dirty.

    Poor

Pros: The staff (owner) was definitely friendly. Very courteous, quick to help point out the closest Walgreen's. Prompt when buzzing to be allowed in.
Cons: Not a great part of town. The entire place needs a huge overhaul. Bathroom was terrible. No AC, but a ceiling fan and window that could open was nice, but for the constant sound of sirens and homeless people shouting from down below.

  • Hotel review by Shawn

    Shawn

    Very Poor

Pros: I liked going to sleep, so I could forget about where I was until I woke up.
Cons: The hotel was surrounded by bums. The odor of the hotel was awful curry opening the window presented a urine odor from the alley The bed had springs that drove into your back or side,The walls were paper thin. I had to go home and shower after this stay
