About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

    It was very comfortable

    Pros: The location was perfect close to restaurants, shopping centers. We had breakfast at the motel but wish there was more of a variety (like biscuits, sausage and gravy) The swimming pool was nice .

    Room excellent. People next door...

    Pros: Cleanliness and comfort
    Cons: Room Nextdoor was very noisy. They woke us up at 1am in hallway. Congregating. Yelling at each other. After -15 min I called front desk. Was asked if music was loud. I said no music but people were extremely noisy. Was informed nothing could be done. Lost a nights sleep. Lasted approximately 1 1/2 hrs. Was too nervous to sleep. My husband checked us out in the morning and didn’t mention. We have stayed there 5-6 times in past year. This was first time we had issues.

    You get what you pay...

    Pros: The main manager was amazing. He was very welcoming and accommodating. The ladies that helped with breakfast were very friendly. They offered daily room service. The room was fairly decent for the price.
    Cons: They forgot the blankets for the room so there were only sheets the first night. The room smelled very bad. The older house keeping lady tried to rush us out of our room at 10:30, when check out was at 11.

    Pros: The location isnt that bad...
    Cons: The staff including the owners are extremely rude..constantly trying to come inside the room for "maintenance" but not doing anything when they get into the room just invading space to see what youre doing in their rooms. Multiple other people confirmed the same thing happening to them as well. Very unprofessional and borderline able to be sued for lying to gain access to their room. Also asking for a deposit 2 days into our stay like how is that even possible...STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!!

    Pros: Near the park
    Cons: The environment is horrible, it is filled with alcoholics disrupting the peace with loud music. Some people were also doing recreational drugs which stunk the hallway. The breakfast was okay. They had waffles, bread, and cereal. It was not family friendly whatsoever
