Cons: I paid much more than my friends for the same room and facilities because I booked via booking.com. It would also have been cheaper to book direct.

Pros: Had to change room as the heating unit was rattling loudly, can’t believe cleaners or other staff had not heard it, but was dealt with my reception staff very very well, and new room was ace!

Pros: Staff were very friendly. Spa facilities were good. The pet friendly room had wooden floors to manage doggy accidents and a bed, curtesy of the hotel.

Cons: Pet friendly room has much older pluming and furniture. The bathroom was not acceptable especially when compared with other rooms of the same value.

Lovely short holiday

Pros: The activities were very amusing, the rooms were spotless. Very clean. Polite and professional service, the outsides were very quiet.

Cons: The hotel is pretty far from stuff like restaurants and shops along with the fact that the breakfast required a menu, I personally prefer the hotels that let you choose and make your own breakfast, rather than giving you specific options.

Unexpected charges and the risk...

Pros: Overall, the cleanliness was excellent, and the bed was comfortable. However, the sofa bed did not offer so much comfort. The toiletries, especially the shampoo and body shower offered, were fancy and very pleasant. This is a hotel focused on couples.

Cons: Reserving the hotel through booking.com unfolded with a few unexpected turns. At our arrival was the discovery of additional charges for the swimming pool - a detail that had somehow eluded the upfront advertised deal. We reserved at the last minute, within 30 minutes of our arrival at the hotel. An email with these 'extra charge details' followed our booking a few minutes later, timing itself in a way that left us with no room to manoeuvre away from these newfound obligations; since it was a last-minute reservation, there was not enough time for cancelling. In the face of this unforeseen charge at the hotel, our initial reaction was to step back from the commitment - this lack of transparency created a bad atmosphere and did not seem right. We asked the hotel to have our reservation cancelled, and they said they couldn´t, that we would have to do it through booking.com; as the situation unfolded and we were trying to phone booking.com customer service to cancel it, the dialogue with the hotel improved, and they extended an olive branch, offering the complimentary access to the pool. They noted, with a hint of insight, that a direct booking with them would have painted a different picture - one where such a surprise extra fee for pool access would be absent for the same price listed on booking.com. Also, it is worth mentioning that there are heavy time restrictions for children to use the pool. This becomes a nuisance and underscores the hotel experience for families.

Pros: We very much enjoyed the Spa facilities. My children were also excited to find juice and a chocolate treat for them on our first day rather than just the usual free biscuits and tea/coffee for the adults. They also loved the robes and slippers in their sizes. Our room was comfortable and we were provided with fresh towels and bedding each day. Staff all over were welcoming and friendly and we felt relaxed. We would definitely visit again.

Cons: The only issue we had was with breakfast on our final day. The receptionist had told us we had been booked in for 10am but when we went down to the restaurant we were told it closed at 9:30am and that we could use the bar but would have to pay for breakfast. There was a different member of staff at reception at this point who didn't know why this had happened but she told us we could eat at the bar and wouldn't need to pay extra. This was fine with us but it would have been nicer to have avoided this confusion.
