Tokushima Airport – TKS
Tokushima Airport is a joint military and public airport located in Matsushige, Tokushima, Japan. The local government and the Japan Self-Defense Force own the airport. Operated by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, it works under the IATA code TKS and the ICAO code RJOS. It sits at an elevation of 37 feet above mean sea level. There is one runway that measures 8,202 feet and an asphalt surface. In 2015, the airport handled 1 million passengers and 10,732 aircraft movements. In the same time period, the airport also handled over 2,250 metric tonnes of cargo.

The Imperial Japanese Navy first opened the airport in 1941. In 1987, the runway was extended to its current length in order to accommodate larger aircrafts. Eight years later in 2018, an international terminal facility was added and mainly used to handle charter flights from China.
