About Kimpton Hotels Monrovia

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurant Group Inc. is the manager of the San Francisco, California-based hotel chain. The brand is owned by the Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG). The hotel chain was founded by William Kimpton in 1981 with the leadership appointed to CEO Mike DeFrino. By 2011, the group was the largest chain of boutique hotels in the United States. Before that, the company launched two other brands named Hotel Palomar and Hotel Monaco in 2005. Due to that marketable recognition, IHG decided to acquire Kimpton for $430 million in cash. The name was retained to expand global managements.
