Sitting on the Khorat Plateau in the northeastern Isan region, Khon Kaen, Thailand is the capital of Khon Kaen Province and the Mueang Khon Kaen District. Most of the year offers hot temperatures that make it great for outdoor adventures and discovery. Khon Kaen experiences extreme humidity during September, with its least humid month being March. The city bustles with tourists the most during January, February, and April. In March, Macha Bucha Day is celebrated on the full moon of the third lunar month. In April, the Dok Khoon Siang Khaen Flower Festival features floral parades, folk music, and entertainment.
