Kalbarri Airport is a public airport that first opened its doors to the public in September 2001. It’s found in the picturesque coastal town of Kalbarri, Western Australia along the Fawcett-Broad Drive. The KAX airport is jointly owned by the Shires of Greenough and Northampton who funded the $1.7 million construction of the airport with the state government. Arkona Holdings and Westralia Airports Corporation also made significant contributions for the total construction costs.

Located just more than 6 miles from the town center of Kalbarri, KAX airport features a single asphalt runway that extends 5,246 feet long and 60 feet wide. It is serviced by the Perth-based airline Skippers Aviation, which flies to destinations including Carnavon, Monkey Mia, and Perth. The airport is equipped with a terminal and free local telephone services.
