O.R. Tambo International Airport is one of the major international airports in South Africa. It is the primary domestic and international airport in the region as well as the busiest not only in Johannesburg, South Africa but also in the whole country. JNB-O.R. Tambo Intl. has a total capacity of 28 million passengers every year. The airport originally took the name Jan Smuts International Airport after a former Prime Minister of the country. It was renamed in 1994 after a policy that all airports should not be named after politicians.
