Fosshotels is one of the three hotel brands operated by Íslandshótel, the largest chain in Iceland. Located in Reykjavik, Fosshotels comprises 15 out of the 17 properties of the chain. The other two belongs to brands Hotel Reykjavik Centrum and Grand Hotel Reykjavik. The group with six hotels in Reykjavik and the rest around Iceland has over 1,700 rooms in total. Eight of its properties have passed the star rating criteria of VAKINN, Iceland’s official tourism quality and environmental system.
True to its name ‘Foss’ which means waterfall, most of its properties are found nearby stunning waterfalls that are part of the country’s magnificent landscape. Fosshotels operates the largest hotel in Iceland – the 16-story FosshotelRekjavik which offers gorgeous views of the city and the bay area. It stands prominently in the central business district of Reykjavik and within a short walking distance from the main shopping center. It provides quick access to many of the top destinations of the city, from its rich history and culture to its splendid architecture and vibrant markets.
One of its newest additions is the four-star Fosshhotel Glacier Lagoon which opened its doors in 2016 next toJökulsárlón glacier lagoon. FosshotelVatnajökull is another crowd favorite due to the spectacular view of Vatnajökull glacier it offers.
