About Apollo Hotels by Leonardo Hooglanderveen
Apollo Hotels is a group of 13 hotels in the Netherlands founded by Willem-Jan van den Dijssel, Francesco Monaco, and Bas Tolmeijer. In 2018, it was acquired by Israel-based Fattal Hotel Group for €160m ($182m). The new owner, which was founded in 1998, operates as Leonardo Hotels in Europe. It was named after its founder David Fattal. The successful takeover increased its portfolio to 150 hotels in 85 destinations.
The acquisition also results in the collaboration of hotels in Belgium and Netherlands as a cluster, to be under supervision of the hotel’s former area manager Alexander Kluit. He will also be in charge for Leonardo Hotels in Charleroi, Antwerp, and Amsterdam.
Moving forward, the Apollo brand will continue to operate under the same name. The deal excludes the wellness resort Thermae 2000 in Valkenburg. One Leonardo Royal Hotel is slated to open in spring 2019 in Amsterdam, and thereby boosting the group’s portfolio in the area to two Leonardo Hotels and four Apollo Hotels, representing over 1,500 rooms.
Fattal Hotel Group lives up to the principle of personal and individual service and high-quality standards. It currently employs 13,000 people. Each hotel features chic interior design with refreshing ambiance and regional flair.
