With this, it is expected that the passenger terminal and hangar space will be expanded, the runway will be extended, and a new terminal will be constructed. This undertaking is part of the Riviera Thailand project, which aims to promote the tourism industry in coastal provinces. The said project, which aims to link existing coastal tourist attractions in four (4) provinces, is part of the comprehensive Master Plan of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. This is a push towards sustainable tourism and increased tourism industry income. Given these developments, it is projected that passenger traffic at Hua Hin Airport will increase 10 times over the course of five (5) years. Ban Nai Dong and Cha-am are nearby the HHQ Airport.
