In January 2013, the Government of Karnataka and the Airport Authority of India agreed on the Hubli Airport’s expansion. On December 12, 2017, P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, the Union Civil Aviation Minister, inaugurated the airport’s terminal upgrades and its ancillary facilities.
