Hotel ElFuerte, the first hotel of the chain of Fuerte Hotels, was established in Marbella, Malaga and Andalusia, Spain. It was built next to the ruins of ElFuertede San Luis (Fort San Luis), which where the name of the first hotel was derived and later the entire company. After the death of its founder Jose Luque in 1984, the company was turned over to his descendants and as of today the company is still run by the family, and owns eight tourists property that maintain the same style and design as the first hotel that opened in Marbella.
