Faleolo International Airport – APW
Located 25 miles west of Apia, the capital of Samoa, the Faleolo International Airport (APW) serves the Apia and Upolu Island. Up to this day, the APW still connects American Samoa and Samoa from the Fagali'i Airport in the eastern suburbs of Apia. It was not until 1984 that the APW-Faleolo International Airport could accommodate larger jets. Back then, arrivals and departures were directed at the Pago Pago International Airport in American Samoa.

Originally known as the Faleolo Airport, the Faleolo International Airport (APW) in Apia, Samoa was constructed by the United States Navy SeaBees after the 1942 war in the Pacific. The Faleolo International Airport became an extension of the US Naval Station Tutuila and the Samoa Defense Group Area in the Pacific War. Since its recent expansion, the airport now services most international flights arriving from New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Tonga, Hawaii, and the USA.
