Cons: Subject: Disappointing Stay at the Rohill Grange Hotel & Utopia Spa My recent experience at the Rohill Grange Hotel & Utopia Spa was, regrettably, underwhelming and did not align with the expectations set by the hotel’s marketing and pricing. My partner and I chose this destination for our precious weekly meeting, paying £700 for a two-night stay, which disappointingly did not include breakfast or access to the spa facilities. Upon arrival, our initial impressions were far from positive. The first room we were allocated was in a state of neglect; dust was so thick atop surfaces that it could bear a written message, and the room’s overall cleanliness was deeply unsatisfactory. Amongst other issues, we encountered a disproportionately large desk, a diminutive TV, peeling wallpaper, and unclean blinds. The most concerning aspects were the visible stains and evident grime in the bathroom, suggesting a long period of inattention. The staff, Chloe and Daisy, were commendably responsive and facilitated a move to what was described as an upgraded room. Unfortunately, this room also fell short of expectations, with issues like hair on bed sheets and dust behind picture frames indicating a lack of thorough cleaning. Although the second bathroom was an improvement, it couldn’t justify the high cost of the stay nor compensate for the initial discomfort. Dining at the hotel further compounded our disappointment. Witnessing other guests struggle with unstable tables preluded our own experience of a similar nature, which was exacerbated by a staff member's discourteous response to our request for relocation. The situation necessitated a makeshift fix involving a door stop and a serviette to prevent our table from tipping—a solution that seemed amateurish considering the establishment's purported standards. Most of the hotel staff were commendable in their efforts, with one notable exception that detracted significantly from our dining experience.

Pros: The outside area was quite pretty and beds were comfortable

Cons: The pavilion area where the wedding was held was lovely but very very cold The bedrooms were too hot and the corridor carpets looked like they needed a good hoover and clean

Cons: The room wasn’t worth the price, wasn’t clean. Disappointing spending so much on the room and it wasn’t the best. Also spending the money on staying at the hotel and then extra at the spa.

Pros: Clean and nice room. Quiet and tidy bar.

Cons: Couldn't get in the restaurant at 8.30pm even though they open until 9 because I hadn't booked. There were loads of free tables so can only presume the chef was on his own or something.

Cons: Room was dirty, moved a chair slightly to sit down and there was a previous guests sock under it. Bed sheets had stains, bathroom had mould. Room service was overpriced for what it was, fish was burnt and garlic bread was not garlic bread just a lump of rock hard bread. Room needs a freshen up, wallpaper peeling off the walls, stains all down the walls. Overall not worth the money at all.

Cons: I did not like the fact that any item I order I have to paid a service charge. Bring order items in the rooms with a charge is not a problem but ordering and waiting in the bar and still be giving service charges. ( it should be a choice) The Gym needs to be modernise.

Spa facilities are lovely, but...

Pros: The spa facilities were lovely and the staff were extremely friendly.

Cons: Upon booking I requested an early check in and booked a twin room and these requests were not acknowledged until we arrived so the room was not ready early and was a king instead of twin so that needed sorting. The room was also very basic for the price paid in comparison to other hotels I've stayed at, and could do with a thorough dust and revamp.
