Great hotel with nice staff.

Pros: The location was nice and close to the DLR. The staff was so friendly and helpful.

Cons: The pillows were very hard. Also it had lifts but they were a bit hard to navigate so it might be hard for someone with a disability.

Ideal location for ABBA Voyage....

Pros: The staff were incredibly helpful and pleasant. The proximity to the ABBA Arena was excellent.

Cons: The following is a summary of what we have communicated to the hotel already in person and via email. The room was advertised as a Junior Suite. It was a reasonable size room with a very small en suite. The bathroom smelled musty when we arrived. Attention to detail was missing on housekeeping i.e. body and hand cream empty above the sink plus body and hand wash in the shower. The sink was tiny. Couldn't use the sink properly when cleaning teeth without banging your shoulder against the shower cubicle. You needed to dry off in the bedroom as a result. The bedroom wasa very warm and the best way to cool it down was to open the windows. With the windows open the heavy traffic was a constant from Straford High Street. There was also a badly filled pothole by the bus stop under the window which resulted in heavy bangs and the room literally shaking when lorries or other heavy vehicles passed by. This disturbed our sleep as well even with the windows shut. A kettle was provided to make tea or coffee but due to the size of the sink in the bathroom you could not fill it easily. The Deputy Manager arranged for half a dozen bottles of still water to be delivered to the room so that we could boil the kettle during our stay. Breakfast was a disppointment as the food was not as hot as it should have been plus the sausages and the bacon were made of turkey due to them being Halal and in line with the hotel owner's religion. The suasages smelled like hot dog sausages and didn't look much better. The turkey bacon would dry out when left in the warmer and become inedible as a result. Would have been nice to have had a non-Halal option for non-Muslim guests. There was no plate warmer for the hot food resulting in hot food going on to cold plates. The court yard needed a clean and also needed someone to empty ashtays, collect empty beer bottles / wine glasses on a regular basis.

Pros: Staff were really accommodating! We stayed on Easter Sunday after attending the abba voyage concert. As a result of the bank holiday very few restaurants in London were open late and we hadn’t eaten. The hotel staff were more than happy to let us order food to the hotel and even provide us with suggestions and their cutlery. We found this really beneficial.

Cons: The room decor was quite dark and the lighting wasn’t the best.

Cons: Night staff were rude, I had guests come to use the bathroom before they went to drive home and the front desk staff were fairly impolite to them. We did express we would keep the noise down until they left and we were advised we were not allowed to talk.

Pros: Room was cosy and had everything you needed in there,iron ironing board, hairdryer, safe and fridge.

Cons: Just a niggle the shower only had an overhead fixture, so a little awkward if you didn't want to wash your hair. Also food, they served cooked breakfast, but evening meal only pizza which we don't like, and as we were there over Easter weekend we had to try and find somewhere as there wasn't a lot open and not many restaurants nearby.
