    Second Surprise Stay was Fantastic

    Pros: Our room this time was on the second floor. We had a great view of the Carribean. We felt safe at the Barracuda. The location to get to the downtown area was close. There are always taxis across the street from the Mega Store.
    Cons: Barracuda added a few television stations in English. I'd like to have one news network in English as well.

    You pay for what you get!

    Pros: Location is excellent. Fantastic dive centre. My husband was certified and thoroughly enjoyed Monstro, Miguel and Juan.
    Cons: Front desk staff not very helpful. At times it felt like an inconvenience for them to answer questions.

    Pros: The location superb. The beach area wonderful. The pool quite nice. The good / value fine as well.

    Fabulous location, great value, but noisy

    Pros: Location is fabulous, rooms overlooking the water. Pool with swim up bar on site. Tons of great restaurants nearby, as well as a grocery store with ATM's right across the street.
    Cons: The noise. Pool party blasting music virtually all day, and the rooms are nowhere near soundproof. Bed was OK but not great.

    Highly affordable hotel that was perfect for us

    Pros: The location of this hotel is EXCELLENT. It is right on the water, with steps down to the ocean (snorkeling is pretty good). MEGA store and 24 hour taxi stand is across the street. It is a short walk to downtown. Between hotel and ocean is No Name Bar. Hotel guests get 50% discount there if they pay cash for meals and drinks. No Name has many tables, lounge chairs, and a swim up bar in the pool. All rooms have a balcony facing the ocean. Everyone is helpful and friendly.
    Cons: If you want a fancy hotel that will cost you $300/night, you will be disappointed. We would have liked a coffeemaker in the room. There wasn't one, so we bought one at MEGA and enjoyed coffee on the balcony each morning. There was no icemaker, But our fridge had a freezer and ice tray, so we made all the ice we needed. If we spend a week in Cozumel again, we are going back to Hotel Barracuda.

    I think there are better places to stay. Probably won't go back.

    Pros: The location was excellentwalking distance to the square and close to many restaurants. The supermarket Mega across the street was key. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was kept clean.
    Cons: The hotel is very dated and bare-bones. The TV is a posted stamp on the wall and didn't work half the time, there were volume issues. Third-floor room without an elevator was tuff with hauling scuba gear, I requested the first floor or lower floor at the time of reservation but was not granted. Lastly, the blaring music all day long was the biggest disappointment it was even worse when the restaurant staff chimed in with the music as loud as they could. The restaurant is not part of the hotel I was told they rent the pool area which is marketed to cruise ships so it's very noisy and crowded. By the time I got back from driving all the sunning chairs were taken by the cruise ship people I was unable to enjoy the outdoor area.
