Disappointed initially, but this hotel grew on us quickly.

Pros: The room for 5 people was spacious, and had two nice bathrooms. Sheets and towels were clean and organized daily. Showers worked to perfection. We rented a car and enjoyed the parking space. At night, we walked to 5th Ave or to the beach. My teen daughter and I enjoyed the pool on the roof; we will not forget the calmness of the star-covered sky. The Mexican breakfast options were great.

Cons: On arrival, we found a few hair strands in the shower and the room was super hot despite the fact the we had announced our arrival with precision, 9pm. The fifth bed was right below the A/C and made my first night unbearable; once I moved it a few inches, I slept much better.

Convenient, spacious and good value with a good hand-cooked breakfast and coffee.

Pros: The room was comfortable, check in was simple and breakfast was very good. The location was not very aesthetic, with a large overpass nearby and some sort of electrical substation almost next door. The walk to the town centre was fairly short although it was very warm work even in the morning! We also liked the rooftop pool - the sign said it opened at 10am IIRC but we had a cheeky swim before breakfast and nobody told us off.

Cons: There was a bit of black mold in the shower which means someone needs to strip and re-do the sealant. It wasn't too bad but definitely not A+ experience. Also the walls generally needed a lick of paint, you could see scuff marks and maybe some food smears here and there. Don't let it put you off though, it's not that bad.

Cons: I would not recommend this place. Hotel room was not clean at clean. It was really loud and uncomfortable. Its not close to the city center nor the beach. Breakfast was barely anything good. They totally misled us. Be careful with potholes and flood water stands around the hotel. Extremely, extremely unpleasant experience!!!

Hidden gem.

Pros: Wonderful hotel at a perfect location. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast is outstanding. We would go back and recommend it to anyone. Excellent price-value ratio with clean and a nice, spacious rooms. A hidden gem, really.

Pros: Huge room, we could dance in it :D Comfy bed, good "a la carte" breakfast from 7:30. Private parking (that gets full).

Cons: Far from the center/beach, it is a 20 minutes walk. You have to cross the road below the highway that is very busy. If you have a car you could try to use it to reach the beach but you risk not finding parking when you are back.

Staff threatened against our visitors visa. I do not recommend it for foreigners and visitors

Cons: Staff was terrible. We met with family that we haven't seen in over 10 years and the owner did not want to let us have a moment with them in the hotel room, I guess he thought we might be staying in there but we told them that we had a hotel elsewhere. The staff even threatened to call the embassy to revoke a visa--- very questionable threats when they could have just extended the courtesy of giving us some privacy for a short amount of time to catch up. The staff then hung around the hotel room like a hawk. It was extremely uncomfortable.

Pros: Breakfast was not rich but it was enough for a good start. Freshly prepared. Staff was very polite without speaking anything else than Spanish it was very easy for us to communicate. Room was clean and spacious. Parking spaces were available outside the hotel (at no charge). We arrived New Year Eve (family of four) and we even received an invitation for dinner with the personnel. We chose to have a walk around the city. Still, it was very nice

Cons: They were missing a few things like soap options, etc. We needed to ask for it. They did not also have hangers! How can you organize your stuff? We did not feel any danged outside the hotel and we walked late at night from downtown, however it is true that the area did not seem very nice and could give you a feeling of insecurity.
