Cons: I missed my first night. My flight was delayed by 2 hours causing me to be late to check-in. Check-in was closed by the time I got to hotel. I had to sleep in rental car since there were no vacancies in town

Pros: Beautiful hotel - luxurious - pool setting incredible overlooking the lake. The service was superb. Restaurant food incredible - breakfast poolside was outstanding. Could not have been any better actually. Bed was super comfortable & fireplace in room. Shower perfect.

Cons: Parking was a very steep incline so our moto had to park at the top then walk down. Pool water temp a little cold, and closed early.

Pros: I wanted to experience Lake Patzcuaro for myself. The reputation of Michoacan is very well known and I wanted to stay at a hotel which had a great view of lake and was very peaceful. Also, I wanted to see some pyramids and other attractions in the area. I planned this trip like two months in advance. So, for an easy bus ticket out of Mexico City and some research I chose this place. Let us just start with the good stuff first. The grounds are amazing. The open spaces for hanging out are great. It is very big and lush. The views of the lake and the mountains are amazing. It is only a 200 peso taxi ride from Patzcuaro, as we chose not to drive ourselves. The service among the staff is fantastic. They are VERY attentive to your needs and will help you with what you need if that means a taxi, information on surrounding activities, etc. They do have an issue, if you are like us and didnt drive to the hotel, of not having many ways to get you around. You are kind of on your own. The restaurant is delicious. Honestly, the food is great. The breakfast, which was included with our room, was freaking huge and well prepared. The room we had was a tree house (Parikuni). At least that is what it felt like to us. The bar? Great selection of booze. They have two mezcals made just for the hotel and they are crazy yummy. Also, the drinks are not crazy expensive, which when enjoying the view, makes a big difference. They have a donkey that talks to you. Seriously. Not a bad thing but the restaurant and the bar tend to close a little early, 8 pm, at least when we were there. Which, if you wanted to just hangout a little late you are kind of forced to plan ahead and grab a bottle of your favorite yummy in town. Also, the web page says the rooms have mini bars, which isnt accurate for this room. There is a fridge but no bar. You know there are always more to what you see and this place has a few things which, for me, hurt the experience. This is not a five star hotel. It kind of pum

Cons: Which brings me to the issue we had. I booked the room online and had specifically asked for the above room, Reina Ireri. I am not sure what happened but we didnt get the room I asked for and when we arrived we were provided with a couple of other options to remedy the situation, which we had to ask for. It was admitted that they had problems with one of the booking sites and apologized for the situation but couldnt provide us with the room we wanted because the hotel was booked (again, I would have asked to be moved anyway). Ok. I am pretty flexible and I can work with anyone to resolve a situation. The manager/owner? From my perspective? Didnt seem to care about our concerns and to make a very long story short insulted my intelligence and my girlfriends demeanor. He also said if we didnt like it he would cancel our reservation and send us somewhere else. He confronted us during a meal with other guests listening. He didnt introduce himself. He just dove right in and was very confrontational. He wasnt empathetic or helpful. He had a chip on his shoulder and was convinced that we were in the wrong. For me, if there is an issue with something it can be worked out and in my case it is not to insult me. I dropped over 500 USD on this three-day weekend and no matter what I shouldnt be treated as I was. There was no apology for the insult. There was no peace beer. Something? Check in to make sure all is well? Even at the end of the trip there was no olive branch. He walked away from the situation and washed his hands of it. I dont want to write a 300-page book on this but that was one of the most unprofessional exchanges I have ever witnessed with anyone in hospitality. Seriously. The lack of follow up? Wow, not cool. I want to be clear here, when there is an issue like this am not looking for a free dinner or something. I am looking for a sense of understanding and that is it. Instead? I got an insult. So, lets look at the big picture. Will I go here...

Pros: Breakfast was amazing as well as the views, the room didn't meet our expectations, the windows could not be opened. The bathroom had several issues with humidity as well as the room that were unattended.

Cons: The room, common areas, the restaurant closes at 8 pm, the bathroom, the area that is near the lake, they use it like an open storage facility which destroys the hotel's mood. Also, broken windows and overall ir seems the hotel hasn't had good maintenance in a long time.

Pros: It is amazing to be in a Beautiful Property like this Hacienda. Jesus, Julio,Rafael and Salvador were amazing. Mr. Rafael was very professional as well and very hospitable.

Pros: Cocktail upon arrival. Absolutely gorgeous property. Super comfortable beds. Complimentary, yummy breakfast included. Astounding views. Jacuzzi tub and lots of hot water.

Cons: There wa no light over vanity so difficult to shave, apply makeup...There was an empty socket with old wires above vanity but no light fixture. Odd in such an expensive accommodation. Although a lovely terrace attached to the room there were no chairs to sit on. Oddly, a small table, no chairs.

Restful, private and a place to collect yourself.

Pros: Enjoyed the stay. It was beautiful to stay on the lake. It was secluded, private and surreal. Love the sunset and quietness of the place. Would love to return.

Cons: You need to prepare with the mosquitoes at night. The food could be better. Wished the staff did speak a little of English but no big deal.
