About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

    Fine for one night last minute, but if given better available options not sure Id come back.

    Pros: Was clean enough for a last minute short stay but wouldnt be my first choice either. Room was very basically clean but floors were iffy.
    Cons: Lots of noise from others staying at the same time, thin walls, no hot tub only pool, very minimal room. Lobby/desk closed at night and phone in the room wouldnt work, no dial tone. Some of the lights in room also didnt work. Faucet makes a mess everytime turned on, water everywhere. Bathroom shower curtain was broken and wouldnt close resulting in the floor to be soaked. Toilet was unstable and moved anytime used (like it was going to come off of the ground). Cops parked outside at night due to random people hanging around. Had to kill many spiders in the room, mostly near the bed which made me nervous about sleeping (Im terrified).

    Pros: The bathroom needs a lot of work,tub is peeling.There are two milk bottle in the fridge that has been left rotting .Cleaning staff didn't even bother to check the fridge when people check out.

    Cons: The clerk was dismissive. Had to ask for the key after he dismissed me. Then had to ask for which room number, then he didn't explain where it was located. I had stayed there before so had some idea. The basic maintenance is lacking, bad plumbing

    Cheap, not too far from the airport for a 6am flight...

    Pros: Cheap... Bed itself was comfortable, and the air con was cold!
    Cons: Check in was confused - the guy didn't give me passport back, and disappeared after checking me in and had to go chase it down! Bathroom was dirty - definitely did not feel like stepping foot in the shower! No staff on site it seems - the guy on the front desk locked the doors as soon as I checked in and disappeared, leaving my friend parking the car outside with no idea where to go as I was directed out the back door towards my room...
