About Best Western Plus Hotels Brand Hotels

Best Western Plus founded by M.K. Guertin started in 1946 and began as an informal channel between the properties and the guests or travelers. Guertin with over 23 years of experience in the lodging and accommodation business started this “guest referral system” mainly through phone calls from his office to the that of the property. By 1962, Best Western Plus became the first ever hotel reservation covering the entire United States.

A year after, the Best Western Plus became the largest motel industry in the nation with 699 properties and 35,201 rooms under its management. Membership loyalty programs became a “thing” during the late 1980s for most hotels operating in the Americas. Best Western Plus launched its Gold Crown Club International Program and acquired 200,000 members the same year and with sales of more than $40 million.

Best Western Plus continued its expansion and reaches places like Greece, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana. BY 2015, a new master band logo was introduced, giving it a more modern and polished look, intended for the upper midscale market. At present, there are over 4500 privately owned hotels in 100 countries and territories working under the Best Western Plus brand.

Very Good
Pros: It's a very nice hotel and the view of the river is amazing.
Cons: The fireplace in the dining/bar area should be lit in the afternoon and evening. We were told that they only light it in the morning. Why? People congregate in that area at Happy Hour and a fire would certainly be a nice addition.

Pros: This hotel was awesome. Staff was very friendly and I loved the happy hour. The riverside location was very scenic and relaxing. Breakfast in the morning was great.
Cons: I'd like a later checkout time in the morning and breakfast could go a little longer during the week.

Wonderful
Pros: I love the view of the stream from the breakfast and bar area and from the exercise room. My room was very clean and the carpets appeared brand new.
Cons: It was a little challenging for my downs syndrome sister to take the stairs in and then up over to the other side of the hotel and then down again to get to our room. I didn't find a elevator that would get us where we needed to go.

Cons: For the money I paid to stay in a king suite with a water view, their most expensive room available, I should NOT have seen streamers left over fr7om the previous users party, a hanging smoke detector, nor a phone Jack hanging out of the wall
